Happy Anniversary!

That's us. Eleven years ago. We got married at Church of the Hills in Fluvanna, Texas. As a cold front roared in with winds that rivaled Hurricane Ike, we vowed to stick with each other through thick and thin. And we have.

Nine moves, two kids and one dog later, we've reached a point in our marriage that I just love. I can truly say I'm married to my best friend. It hasn't always been easy. We've weathered a few storms -- with the loss of Mom being the worst. But through all the holes Jake has dug in the yard and "iffy" batches of spaghetti for dinner, we've made it through.

And we've shared some amazing times along the way -- the births of Abbie & Kaitlyn top the list by far. Vacations to Vail, Breck, Keystone, Tahoe, Costa Rica and a couple of cruises are in there as well. Sharing the funny moments of our lives -- especially the crazy things our girls say and do. We made it past the "penny challenge" Kayren posed when we all married and while I can't say much about that, I couldn't say enough about that.

We've coached softball teams. We've bought and sold cars -- and one truck that we never should have bought! We've argued and laughed and loved and cried and celebrated together. And it's that together part that has made it all worthwhile.

God couldn't have blessed me with a better mate -- no one on Earth would have suited me better. No one could have reigned me in the way Biggs does, or let me have my lead the way he does. No one could have put up with my quirks, and I'm certain he couldn't have found anyone else to put up with all of his. What a gift Biggsy has been!

Happy Anniversary! It's getting through that "for better or worse" that really makes it work, right? We've really enjoyed getting to know you guys, especially through the "Ike" days. May you enjoy the next 11 years as much as the first!
Love, Mary & Greg
